Shahabuddin has been granted bail in a case related to seizure of arms from his ancestral house in Bihar's Siwan district.
Patna: The Patna High Court on Friday granted bail to Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MP Mohammad Shahabuddin in a case related to seizure of arms from his ancestral house in Bihar's Siwan district.
Shahabuddin, arrested in New Delhi over a year ago, is lodged in Siwan jail. A case under the Arms Act was filed in 2005 against Shahabuddin after firearms were recovered at the house in Pratappur village.
A Lok Sabha member from Siwan since 1996, the MP faces charges in over 40 criminal cases, including those relating to murder, abduction and possession of illegal arms and stolen vehicles.
