Huge haul of explosives, two arrested

THENI:  Uthamapalayam police on Sunday arrested two people and seized a huge quantity of explosives.During vehicle checks on Saturday, police intercepted a lorry at Uthamapalayam-Kokilapuram road and found that it was carrying detonators and gelatin sticks.Police seized 3,000 electric detonators, 100 kg of gelatin sticks, four gunny bags of ammonium nitrate and 14 gunny bags of urea. A complaint has been registered; and Mannar and Rajapandi, the driver of the vehicle, were arrested.
