With the advent of social media, people display entertaining content in reels and video clips in a bid to become popular. In the pursuit to become famous overnight, some of them end up performing dangerous stunts and harming themselves. A similar clip shared on Instagram shows a boy standing backward in front of a pool. In the background, social media users can hear a woman asking the child, “Go ahead Go ahead”, indicating to him to jump in the pool. Listening to this, the boy performs a backflip but unfortunately, his upper body gets stuck in the space between the swimming pool’s boundary and the deck. A woman screams in horror and rushes towards the child to save him. A girl standing close to the boy tries to help him out. The video concludes with this and it is not known whether both women were able to save the child or not. The video has garnered more than 14 million views and counting.

Social media users expressed their concern regarding the boy’s safety in the comment section. Many users opined that this accident could have been worse and the boy could have broken his back, neck and arms but he got saved luckily. Some of the users also criticised the massive gap between the pool and the deck.

Despite people cautioning against performing such dangerous stunts, users don’t listen and keep doing these activities, thus endangering their lives.

Farhat Azam Shaikh, a Wadala native went viral some time back for performing a skating stunt. hanging from a local train in Mumbai. As per an official, Farhat performed the stunt in the video on March 7 and, later in an attempt to execute another such stunt, lost an arm and leg on April 14.

In the clip posted by the railway authorities, Farhat is urging the people to stay away from such acts. Stressing the danger of such illegal acts, a press release said he now faces extreme difficulty in performing daily chores.

The release further stated that these actions can have fatal consequences. It urged the citizens to report anyone performing these stunts by immediately calling mobile number 9004410735 or 139.
