Krushna Abhishek Reunites With Uncle Govinda After 7-year Rift. Here's How Their Meeting Went
When Krushna got back to India, he decided to pay Govinda a visit at home and the duo met for the first time in seven years.

Comedian-actor Krushna Abhishek visited his uncle, Govinda, for the first time in seven years. This comes after Govinda was involved in an accident where a gun misfired, and he was rushed to the hospital earlier this month. Many family members and friends came to visit him, but Krushna was notably absent because he was on a professional tour in Australia. He has now come out to state that he went to see Govinda at home upon his arrival in India.

Krushna recently spoke with The Times Of India (TOI) regarding the reunion, telling the publication of the emotions he felt when learning about Govinda’s accident. “I was in Australia when I heard about Chi Chi mama’s accident. I almost cancelled my tour, but after checking with the hospital staff and Kashmera (his wife), I was reassured that he was fine and in good spirits,” Krushna shared.

When Krushna got back to India, he decided to pay Govinda a visit at home and the duo met for the first time in seven years. “It felt like I had completed half a vanvaas (exile). He’s recovering well, and I spent about an hour with him,” Krushna said. “Meeting Nammo after seven years was so emotional; I just hugged her,” Krushna added.

The reunion was a fun time for Krushna. The two walked down memory lane, joked and discussed how things were in the past. “It felt just like before. All those years I spent living with mama and mami (Govinda’s wife, Sunita) in their home flashed before my eyes,” Krushna said. He said he was glad they did not talk about the long-standing rift, which was a source of separation for years.

Krushna confessed to having felt apprehensive encountering his aunt, Sunita, who was not around at the time of the visit. “Honestly, I was a bit scared to face her because I knew she would scold me.”

Asked why the two finally reunited, Krushna answered that fate had been a barrier between them for years. “I don’t know why it took so long. A lot was happening that made meeting difficult, but I’m glad we’ve finally buried the hatchet and moved on.”

Krushna has since gone to see Govinda again and stated that the actor was on the road to recovery and has been able to move around in his home with the aid of a walking stick.
