Islamabad: A small 'island' of about 40 ft has appeared in the sea in Gwadar as a result of the strong earthquake that struck remote western Pakistan.
TV channels showed images of the 'island' that sprung up after the 7.7 magnitude earthquake hit southwestern part of the country, killing 32 people and injuring dozens.
According to DIG Gwadar Moazzam Jah, the 'island' is at a distance of 350 feet from the Gwadar coast. The temblor, which had its epicentre 69 km from Awaran in Balochistan province, was felt in Karachi, Hyderabad, Larkana and other towns and cities of Sindh province.
