KOCHI: The Kerala Catholic Youth Movement (KCYM) has come up in protest against  displaying a picture of Jesus Christ with CPM leaders at the venue of CPM state meet in Thiruvananthapuram. The KCYM leaders in a statement issued on Thursday said that Jesus, the son of God, was not a tool for the CPM to attract people to the party. “The selfishness and the double stand of the Communist party, which denies the faith in god, have revealed,” KCYM state general secretary, Cyriac Chazhikadan said here in a statement. If the party is not able to attract people with the armed and the drug-addicted leaders, let them study the Bible in-depth. Otherwise the KCYM will launch a public campaign against the CPM,” he said. These type of activities that affect the secularism and  religious harmony of the country should not be tolerated, he added.Meanwhile, the Kochi diocese committees of the KCYM and the KLCA organised a torchlight procession and a public meeting at Thoppumpady on Thursday. KCYM state president sony Pavelil inaugurated the meeting. KCYM Kochi diocese general secretary Linu Thomas said Jesus Christ is not a tool for the campaign of a party like the CPM which is engaged in violence. KCYM Kochi diocese president Joby Panakkal, KLCA diocese president P A Dalfin,  KLCA state vice- president Nelson Kocheri and KLCA diocese general secretary Edward Francis spoke.
