Cinemas get notices for security lapses

HYDERABAD: The city police on Friday served notices to Anand, Lamba and Tivoli theatres as they failed to provide security measures.A few days ago, Hyderabad city police has directed all managements of the film theatres to provide security measures following Mumbai bomb blasts. Police said that around 6.30 pm on Friday, police, in mufti, carried tiffin boxes and walked through the metal detectors installed at the entrance of Anand, Lamba and Tivoli theatres. But the staff posted at the entrance allowed the cops into the theatre without frisking. Later, police checked the metal detectors and found they were not working properly. “We issued notices to the managements to install proper metal detectors and submit a report to police on security measures  within three days," police said.
