Meanwhile, Jeev Milkha Singh fell by the wayside after returning a one-under 70.

Las Vegas: Arjun Atwal just about managed to make the cut with a roller-coaster three-under 68 but Jeev Milkha Singh fell by the wayside after returning a one-under 70 in the second round of the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open golf tournament here.

Atwal lay tied 67th at the USD 4.3 million event with a total of four-under 138, which is the cutline set for the tournament offering a winner's share of USD 756,000.

Jeev, however, was way off the mark at five-over 146 in the overall standings.

A 10th tee starter, Atwal was off to flier as he picked up birdies on the 10th, 12th, 15th and 18th against a 17th-hole bogey to make the turn three-under.

His front-nine was a mixed affair during which Atwal gained two strokes against an equal number of bogeys.

Jeev, on the other hand, managed three birdies and an eagle against four bogeys in his erratic card.

American Jonathan Byrd (63) took a one-stroke lead with a total of 13-under 129. Japan's Ryuji Imada was placed second after returning a nine-under 62.
