Watch: Hyderabad Man Thrashed As Dog Attempts To Bite Passerby, Internet Reacts

There has been an increase in incidents of dogs attacking people, resulting in serious injuries. Such incidents have raised concerns among the community. In addition to stray dog attacks, a spike in pet dog assaults, particularly in housing societies, has raised concerns about how to protect vulnerable individuals. Sometimes, the fear leads to people taking drastic steps. A family in Hyderabad was assaulted along with their dog after the pet allegedly attacked a passerby.

The video was shared on X by a handle named Telugu Scribe. The video shows a man standing by the side of the road with his pet dog – a husky. The dog eventually barks at passerby. Shortly after, a couple of men arrive from the opposite direction and the dog attempts to bite one of them. The next moment, one person grabs the dog’s leash, others shove the dog owner to the ground. They begin thrashing him and the dog with sticks. A woman rushes in to save the man, but she is also beaten severely. Two more women intervene and stop the attackers. One of them even blocks an attacker from throwing a brick at the dog’s owner, who is laying on the ground.

The caption along with the post read, “Atrocious. The dog, the owner and his wife were attacked for coming into the house. Maduranagar – Srinath’s pet dog in Rahmat Nagar went into Dhanunjay’s house opposite. A fight broke out between the two and seeing this, Dhanunjay along with his two friends attacked and beat Srinath, Srinath’s wife and pet dog with sticks.”

Many users condemned the incident and some also demanded the state police to take action. One user stated, “Shameful to see men even not rushing/ Trying to stop, thankfully women are brave enough to interrupt to stop at least. (I know it’s not ideal to be involved when fighting with weapons, but at least they should have tried to stop rather than watching), while another expressed, “Dear Hyderabad City Police, won’t tolerate this and condemn in a strict manner. The dog cannot be beaten up in the end. This is a serious issue and I will personally take up with courts if no strict action is ensured and we want the follow up to be posted here.”

A user also felt that it was a deliberate attack. “This was done wantedly by the black T-shirt guy. Look at him first while crossing the dog he has split on the road that sparked the dog to bark at him and then he comes back to start the rage and he didn’t attack the dog he attacked the guy this shows he has some personal grudge.” stated the individual.
