BANGALORE: Three fire mishaps were reported in the city on Friday, but no casualties were reported. The major one was at Columbia Asia Hospital in Hebbal in the afternoon, while the other two were at Ramamurthy Nagar and Shanthi Nagar.At the hospital, fire broke out in the basement where the main UPS batteries were kept. As soon as the fire broke out, the staff shifted patients from the wards on the ground and first floors to nearby hospitals as a precautionary measure. The exact reason for the fire is yet to be ascertained.In Ramamurthy Nagar, the fire broke out in a scrap shop behind Gokul Hotel in Vijay Bank Colony. Eight fire tenders were pressed into service to douse the fire. It is suspected that short circuit could be the reason for the fire. In Shanti Nagar, a fire was reported in Wazir Hotel on Rhenius Street after an LPG cylinder caught fire. All the customers were rushed out and the firemen controlled the fire using four fire tender vehicles.
