Cody Rhodes Sends Fans Into A Frenzy After Teasing WWE NXT Appearance Next Week
Rhodes shared a post on social media platform X to reveal that he was watching the NXT Battleground pay-per-view while also suggesting that he was thinking of visiting his old buddies in Florida.

WWE Universal Champion Cody Rhodes elated fans by suggesting that he wanted to visit some old friends at NXT. Rhodes is currently one of the prominent names in the WWE. The champ, however, donned the role of a fan for a day as he tuned in to watch WWE NXT Battleground.

The premium live event of the company’s developmental brand was held in Nevada yesterday, June 9. Rhodes shared a post on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to reveal that he was watching the pay-per-view while also suggesting that he was thinking of visiting his old buddies in Florida. Tagging NXT in charge Shawn Michaels and commentator Vic Joseph, he wrote, “Actually thinking of “dashing” down to FL this week with a gift and see some old friends.”

The interesting revelation from Rhodes sparked several reactions from WWE fans who just could not believe that the Universal Champion could make an NXT appearance soon. One of them enquired, “Cody going down to NXT again?”

Another asked, “Cody to NXT again?!?!”

One fan suggested that it would be great to see the Universal Champion visit the company’s developmental brand once again. “Yes! A Cody appearance on NXT this week would be so awesome”.

“Yes, stop by NXT before heading to Scotland!” wrote another.

“Been a blast watching Battleground tonight! Would also love to see you visit NXT again, would be really special I’m sure, “ added one more.

In his post, Rhodes also disclosed how he was excited about NXT Battlerground’s main event between Ethan Page and Trick Williams. The Universal Champion revealed that he and Page were old buddies. Rhodes added that he was curious to see how his old friend performed in the NXT Championship match at the UFC Apex Arena in Las Vegas. He wrote, “Watching WWE NXT Battleground, curious how my old friend Ethan Page will do against Trick Williams.”

It seems like fortune was not on the side of Rhodes’ old buddy as Page lost his NXT Championship match to Trick Williams. Despite being the obvious leader in action, Page was unable to secure the NXT Championship at Battleground. The challenger attempted to put away Williams using his best shot but failed to do so. This frustrated Page who got incensed by the referee. The distraction enabled the champion to recover before finishing off Page with the Trick Knee.

As for Rhodes’ NXT appearance, nothing has been confirmed by the WWE. It remains to be seen if the Universal Champion will return to Florida next week.
