OnePlus will launch its much anticipated OnePlus 9 series of smartphones on March 23. OnePlus 9 will be the third major flagship launch this year after the Samsung Galaxy S21 series and the Xiaomi Mi 11. Alongside the official launch date of OnePlus 9 series, we also got to know that OnePlus will include a charging adapter inside the box of OnePlus 9 smartphones, unlike other brands like Samsung and Apple. OnePlus CEO Pete Lau, confirmed that the OnePlus 9 series will have a charging adapter inside the box on a thread on the official OnePlus community forum.
Most manufacturers are said to be removing the charging brick from inside the box of their flagship smartphones, as their contribution towards a cleaner environment (read saving more money). Apple started this trend with the iPhone 12 in October last year. The company said that all its changes towards the environment will cut over two metric tons of carbon emissions annually, which is equal to removing 4,50,00 cars from the road every year. Following Apple?s move, Samsung and Xiaomi mocked Apple for doing so in their own quirky ways. However, both the companies did exactly the same and removed the charger from their smartphone boxes.
Now, Xiaomi doesn?t exactly count here, since the company has only removed the charging adapter in China. There also, users can add the charging adapter to their smartphone box at no extra cost. Samsung, on the other hand, has removed the charging adapter from the Samsung Galaxy S21 series boxes across the globe. The adapters cost Rs 1,999 for the 25W model and Rs 2,999 for the 45W adapter. Apple?s adapters, on the other hand, cost Rs 1,900 for the 20W adapter, Rs 1,900 for the 12W adapter, Rs 1,900 for the 5W adapter as well, and Rs 4,900 for the 30W adapter.
OnePlus, on the other hand, will include the charging brick inside OnePlus 9 series boxes. OnePlus is expected to use 65W Dash charging on the OnePlus 9 series smartphones. If true, it will offer a bigger charger than Apple and Samsung at no extra cost. Winner.
The OnePlus 9 series is set to launch on March 23. OnePlus has partnered with Swedish photography company Hassleblad this time in order to emerge as a leader in the smartphone camera category. The OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro will come with Hassleblad cameras. A recent teaser from OnePlus also gave us the first official look at the OnePlus 9 Pro, showing the smartphone?s back panel, which looks similar to several leaks claimed to be of the OnePlus flagship. A rectangular camera module houses a quad rear camera made in partnership with Hassleblad.
