RJD to approach Election Commission over Modi's 'shaitaan' remark against Lalu
A delegation of RJD leaders will be going to the EC office in Patna to lodge a formal complaint against the PM.

The gloves are off between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad. Offended by the Prime Minister's Shaitaan remark against Lalu, the RJD is planning to approach the Election Commission.

A delegation of RJD leaders will be going to the EC office in Patna to lodge a formal complaint against the PM.

During his election meetings at Munger and Begusarai in Bihar on Thursday, Modi played up Prasad's alleged comment of 'shaitan' (devil) entering his tongue which made him make the beef comment.

Launching a strong counter-attack on Modi, the RJD chief challenged the PM to show proof that he made the statement. "Modi should not add insult to Bihar through figment of his 'shaitan'. I challenge Modi and a few of his sycophant mediapersons to show me my statement on it (shaitan)," he tweeted.

The RJD chief's "Hindus too eat beef" comment in the wake of killing of a Muslim man in a Greater Noida village over rumour of cow slaughter has drawn huge condemnation for him.

A Muzaffarpur court has directed police to register an FIR against Lalu for his remark.

Seeking to link the issue with the pride of backwards and dalits, Prasad said in his message on the micro-blogging site that "Modi called all dalits and backwards a 'shaitan' (devil) ...you are trying to hide behind 'shaitan' out of frustration with backwards and dalits rallying behind us."

Attacking Modi, the RJD chief said that "deprived society is watching why a PM known for hyperbole is silent over issues like price rise, employment, black money. Show courage to condemn RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat comment on reservation."

What's your reaction?
