Apoorv Durga, a PhD student at the Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi wanted to find out what the fuss was all about the house allotted to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. Durga is a supporter of the Aam Aadmi Party and said he decided to ride to Bhagwan Das Road to see the bungalow everyone was talking about. The photos were posted on his Facebook page."The proposed flat is a part of DDA's officer's colony. This colony is like a small apartment complex with 7 apartments inside it (7/1 to 7/7). The whole plot is just like those big MP bungalows that we see but there are 7 apartments within that plot. The big gate that every media channel is showing is actually the gate of the apartment complex and nor Arvind's flat. There are no big lawns - only a small, modest open area," he wrote. Kejriwal and his six ministers had decided not to stay in any government bungalows but instead live in modest flats. Kejriwal has been living in a society flat in Kausambi and had refused to shift to a Type-Seven bungalow which he is entitled to after taking oath as the Chief Minister on December 28. His team had finalised the two flats on Bhagwan Das Road after scanning a number of government flats near the Delhi Secretariat around Indraprastha Extension. Delhi government ministers are entitled to Type-Six or Type-Seven bungalows with three-bedrooms. Sheila Dikshit has since 2003 been staying at a Type-8 bungalow on 3, Motilal Nehru Marg in Lutyens Delhi. (Photos and inputs from Apoorv Durga and PTI)
