New Delhi: Home Minister P Chidambaram on tuesday refused to make any comments on the reports whether Central Vigilance Commissioner P J Thomas has offered to resign in the wake of Supreme Court's observations about him.
"How do I know what he has offered and what he has not offered? I made no suggestions and I received no offer," he told a press conference.
In response to questions over his meeting with the CVC, Chidambaram said, "A number of people meet me. I will not comment on the CVC."
When questioned about BJP's charge that as part of selection committee for the CVC, he had made a "wrong selection", he replied, "I have no comments on the appointment procedure."
Chidambaram said all questions related to the CVC should be directed to Minister of State for Personnel.
Earlier, the BJP has demanded that Central Vigilance Commissioner P J Thomas be sacked and should not be provided with an "escape route" by allowing him to resign in the wake of observations made by the Supreme Court against him.
Thomas, whose appointment has been questioned by Supreme Court for his alleged involvement in a criminal case in Kerala had met Home Minister P Chidambaram on Monday.
