The Professors of Practice post at IIM Calcutta is a contractual appointment for one year and the contract may be renewed based on performance up to 3 years

The Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta (IIMC) has invited applications from highly experienced and accomplished management professionals for ‘Professor of Practice’ positions. Interested candidates willing to apply can visit the official website of the institute at iimcal.ac.in and submit their applications by January 1, 2024.

Professors of Practice are expected to facilitate novel practice-oriented pedagogies by promoting active creativity, learning, and innovation, and teach in different programs as per the norms of the Institute. The candidate will also be expected to identify industry needs and coordinate and develop cutting-edge courses to be conducted by the institute.

In addition to that, Professors of Practice will have to promote industry-institute linkages through a wide range of activities, including supporting IIMC’s various centres and programmes, resource generation, participation in executive education, and consulting assignments.

This is a contractual appointment for one year and the contract may be renewed based on the performance of the candidate up to a maximum of 3 years from the date of initial engagement.

IIM Calcutta Recruitment 2023: Eligibility Criteria

Age limit: To be eligible for Professor of Practice posts, the applicants should preferably be below the age of 65 years on the date of the advertisement.

Minimum Qualification and Experience: Candidate must have proven expertise in their specific profession or role with preferably 15 years of service/experience at a senior level.

He/she must have significant potential to develop government/ industry/ international connections and the ability to leverage the same for the benefit of the Institute.

Moreover, they must ideally hold a Master’s/PhD degree in any discipline (or equivalent professional qualification) from an Institute of national or international repute. Her/his domain knowledge should be of significant value and possession of a Master’s/PhD may not be considered an essential condition in such cases in case candidates have significant senior-level experience in the industry.

IIM Calcutta Recruitment 2023: Salary

The selected candidate will be paid Rs 1,20,000 per month (all inclusive) subject to 15 (equivalent) hours of engagement per month on average during the period of the contract.

However, she/he will be paid for additional hours spent in teaching, executive, education, external consulting and/or funding opportunities as per rules applicable to the regular Institute faculty. Lastly, during the days of engagement accommodation on campus and shared office may be provided subject to availability.
