Prez Droupadi Murmu To Confer National Teachers’ Award 2023 To 75 Educators, Full List Of Winners
The purpose of the National Teachers Award is to recognize and praise teachers who have not only improved the quality of education

On Teacher’s Day, President Droupadi Murmu will present the National Teachers’ Award 2023 to deserving educators on September 5. This event will take place at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi, hosted by the Department of School Education & Literacy under the Ministry of Education. This year, 75 educators from different parts of the country have been selected to receive this prestigious award.

The purpose of the award is to recognize and praise teachers who have not only improved the quality of education but have also positively influenced their students’ lives with their unwavering dedication and commitment. Each recipient will receive a certificate of merit, a cash prize of Rs 50,000, and a silver medal.

Before conferring the award, President Droupadi Murmu said, “Teachers’ Day is an occasion when the nation honours the profession of teaching and recognises the services and efforts of teachers towards building the future of the students. A teacher is not merely someone who gives the knowledge of subjects for clearing examinations but a teacher is also a mentor and a guide who shows the right path to his student.”

Further she affirmed that teachers role has acquired new dimensions in the era of technology with a need to evolve  and adopt with the latest methods of imparting education.

To acknowledge creative teaching approaches, impactful research, community involvement, and unique educational efforts, the nomination process was carried out online, encouraging greater participation from the public.

Out of the 75 teachers chosen, 50 are from schools, 13 are from higher education, and 12 are from the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. Here is the list of the award winners:
