Three people, including two women, were arrested by Mumbai police for their alleged involvement in broadcasting live porn shows through a mobile app. The police have registered a case against the app’s owner in the matter.
According to Versova police, they received inputs about a mobile application called ‘Pihu Official App’ on the Google Play Store that its users are being charged from Rs 1,000 to 10,000 for watching live sex on it.
After verifying the information, the Versova police on Sunday raided a flat in a building in Four Bungalow, Versova, in connection with the case. In the raid, 20-year-old Tanisha Rajesh Kanojia, 27-year-old Rudra Narayan Raut and 34-year-old Tamanna Arif Khan were arrested over their alleged involvement in the operation of the app.
Quoting an officer, an Indian Express report said the three arrested persons have been charged under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Information Technology (IT) Act for indulging in obscene acts, selling obscene material to youngsters and indulging in obscenity using computer devices.
Police further stated that the operator of the app has also been named in the FIR.
In a similar incident earlier this year, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had arrested a man from Tamil Nadu’s Thanjavur district for allegedly possessing and sharing child pornography content via electronic means.
According to a CNN-News18 report, the accused, a 35-year-old man, was sexually abusing a child for the last four years. He had captured nude videos and photographs of the minor, which he had uploaded to his online cloud account.
