When Vicky Kaushal Was 'Beaten' By His Father’s 'Goons' On Sets Of Dunki
Dunki is Vicky’s second collaboration with Rajkumar Hirani after Sanju.

Vicky Kaushal is on cloud nine after the unanimously positive reviews of his portrayal of real-life war hero Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw in the recently released film Sam Bahadur. The movie has already grossed Rs 100 crore and has been a commercial success. Vicky’s performance was highly appreciated. The actor aims to continue his winning streak and end the year on a high note as he will again be seen in the much anticipated Shah Rukh Khan film Dunki, directed by Rajkumar Hirani. This will be Vicky’s second collaboration with Rajkumar Hirani after Sanju.

Rajkumar Hirani recently talked about his experience of shooting Dunki with Shah Rukh Khan, Taapsee Pannu and Vicky Kaushal and in the process shared an anecdote regarding Vicky in the most hilarious way possible.

According to Hirani, Vicky was beaten up by his father’s goons during the making of the movie. Before you jump to conclusions, it was part of the screenplay where Vicky had to fight and lose against some goons. Rajkumar Hirani said that none of his previous films ever consisted of fight scenes and Dunki was the first one. He contacted Vicky’s father Sham Kaushal, who is an accomplished action director in the film business.

Once Hirani explained the scene to Sham Kaushal, he brought some menacing fighters on the sets. Fight scenes were to be shot for Vicky Kaushal’s character. In which Vicky had to be beaten. Rajkumar Hirani says, ‘Shyam Kaushal himself directed these scenes and the shooting started. Vicky Kaushal was beaten fiercely by his father’s bouncers in front of him. However, all the scenes were shot well”.

Dunki will also be Rajkumar Hirani’s first collaboration with Shah Rukh Khan. The filmmaker has never delivered a dlop film in his career. Dunki hits the theatres on December 21, clashing with other biggies like Salaar and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.
