Streaming Now: 5 Shows and Movies to Binge Watch this Christmas Week
End the year on a high with 5 of the best titles streaming online this week. Christmas watchlist sorted!

Let’s face it, none of us have the time to waste on a bad pilot episode or two-hour movie. That’s precisely why we have compiled this list of new shows and movies that are worth a watch this week. Take a look:

Rangbaaz (ZEE5)

Another gangster drama from the Hindi heartland. Inspired by real-life events, this nine-episode web series shows the journey of one of the most feared gangsters from Gorakhpur in the 90s. It’s refreshing to see Saqib Salem playing a moustached gangster who falls in love with a receptionist, played by Aahana Kumra. Ahana brings bits of sass from her Lipstick Under My Burkha to the show.

You (Netflix)

Remember Dan, the Lonely Boy, from Gossip Girl? Penn Badgley is back in New York, trying to woo the woman he loves by manipulating her world using the internet, once again. Creepily similar storyline, but it might be nostalgic to watch Penn back in this game in today’s hyper-connected world. In this movie, he goes from stalker to boyfriend while doing whatever it takes to eliminate all obstacles standing in his way - even if it means murder.

Selection Day (Netflix)

Based on Arvind Adiga’s book, this web series promises stellar performances by Rajesh Tailang, Mahesh Manjrekar and Ratna Pathak Shah. The sports drama follows two teen cricket prodigies, played by Mohammad Samad and Yash Dholye. They are pushed towards perfection by their overbearing father, an impoverished chutney seller from a village in Karnataka, for whom his sons’ cricketing ability is a ticket to salvation.

Grey’s Anatomy Season 14 (Amazon Prime)

Good news for Grey’s Anatomy loyalists – they can now spend their Christmas and New Year holidays catching up on the 14th season of the American medical drama. In the new season, Meredith and the team are focused on helping Owen’s sister after her shocking return, and Amelia faces conflict over a patient. Meanwhile, Bailey is forced to give Grey Sloan a facelift after the fire and the doctors are introduced to a few new faces that spice things up around the hospital.

The Revenant (Amazon Prime)

The movie that finally won Leonardo DiCaprio an Oscar for best actor will be available this week on Amazon Prime. The semi-biographical movie narrates frontiersman Hugh Glass' experiences on a fur trading expedition in the 1820s, when he has to fight for survival after being mauled by a bear and left for dead by members of his own hunting team. At the 88th Academy Awards, the film won the best director and best cinematography awards as well. Need we say more?
