Popular actress Indira Krishnan, known for her role in Durga, is in the limelight ever since she joined the cast of Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana. In the upcoming film, she reportedly portrays the role of Kaushalya. In a recent interview, she shared some personal moments from the set, particularly how Ranbir Kapoor frequently spoke about his daughter, Raha. During the interaction, she was asked if the little one ever visited RK on the Ramayana set and her response was quite interesting.
Reflecting on her experience with Ranbir, Indira was asked about the differences she observed between working with him on Animal and Ramayana. “Ranbir is one of the finest actors in our country. Be it his behaviour or his acting skills, he’s just exceptional.” Indira told Pinkvilla. She then recalled her brief interaction with him during Animal, where she played Rashmika’s on-screen mother.
She also revealed that on the last day of Animal shoot, she told Ranbir that she hoped to play his mother someday. She added that it seemed like she manifested it. “Two years later, I walked into the script reading for Ramayana and didn’t even know he was playing Ram,” she said with excitement.
The conversation naturally turned to the bond that Indira and Ranbir developed on set. “We talked a lot on set and became really close. He treated me beautifully,” she shared, adding a personal touch to their relationship by revealing that Ranbir would ask her to bring books for Raha. “All of my son’s books are with her now,” she added with a smile.
When asked if Raha ever visited the set of Ramayana, Indira clarified, “Not when I was there. After that, I’m not sure. But while I was there, she didn’t come because we were shooting in the peak heat, outdoors, at Film City. This was probably around May, and it was too hot to bring her. But I’m definitely looking forward to meeting her someday,” the actress added.
Before this, Indira Krishnan had played a key character in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal and had prominent roles in films like Holiday and Chatur Singh Two Star. In the television world, she currently plays Paani Bai in Durga, alongside Pranali Rathod and Aashay Mishra. She is best known for her lead role in Krishnaben Khakhrawala, as well as her performances in Yeh Hai Chahatein and Dhruv Tara – Samay Sadi Se Pare.
