Actor Chetan Chandra, recognised for his performances in well-received Kannada movies such as PUC, Premism, Rajadhani, and Jarasandha, reportedly faced a harrowing experience on Sunday evening in Kaggalipura, located near Bengaluru. Chandra disclosed the incident through a video shared on social media. On the occasion of Mother’s Day, Chetan decided to take his mother to a temple. He was driving home with his mother when he was allegedly assaulted by a group of about 20 people. Recounting the incident on an Instagram video, where Chetan appears injured and battered, he said that the attack happened after his car was chased and damaged by an intoxicated individual. Subsequently, a larger group gathered and assaulted him near Kaggalipura.

Chetan Chandra disclosed that he suffered injuries, including a fractured nose, during the confrontation. He sought medical aid at a nearby hospital and showcased his injuries in an Instagram Live broadcast. The actor informed his audience about the assault and stressed his plea for justice, revealing that he had filed a police report regarding the incident. In the video, Chetan Chandra detailed the chain of events, explaining how the situation intensified after the intoxicated individual struck his car and subsequently called in a group of individuals. He said that he still does not know the reason and motive behind the unprovoked attack.

The actor’s harrowing experience has ignited fury on social media, with numerous individuals expressing support and urging for justice on his behalf. The hashtag “Justice for Chetan Chandra” has gained momentum as people online demand accountability for the incident.

Chetan Chandra, the son of K B Ramachandra and B N Anusuya, is renowned not only for his acting skills but also for his academic accomplishments. He earned a degree in information science engineering. His journey in acting began with the 2008 movie PUC, where he acted alongside Harshika Poonacha, but his breakthrough role was in Premism.
