Not the one to hide emotions or his love and adoration for his now wife Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh recently gave a moving thank-you speech after he won the Best Actor award for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film Padmaavat.
Acknowledging Deepika’s contribution in his life and success, he said, “In the film, may be, I didn’t get my queen but in real life, I have got my queen. Baby, I love you. In the past six years, if I have achieved anything, it is because you have kept me grounded and centred. So thank you for everything and I love you.”
Ranveer’s heartfelt tribute made Deepika all teary eyed. Watch their video here:
Notably, Ranveer played the hostile and unforgiving Alauddin Khilji in the period drama, which starred Deepika as queen Padmavati and Shahid Kapoor as her husband, Rajput ruler Maharwal Ratan Singh.
Padmaavat was Ranveer and Deepika’s third film together. They have previously starred in Bhansali’s Goliyon Ki Rasleela: Ram-Leela and Bajirao Mastani. After dating for six years, they got married last month at Italy’s Lake Como in two grand wedding ceremonies as per Konkani and Sindhi customs. Upon their return to India, they hosted multiple receptions for their friends, family and colleagues in Bollywood.
On the professional front, Ranveer will next be seen alongside Sara Ali Khan in Rohit Shetty’s Simmba. It will release on December 28. Deepika, meanwhile, will soon begin shooting for Meghna Gulzar’s next film on acid attack survivors.
