Enga Veettu Pillai
Released in 1965, Enga Veettu Pillai was a remake of the Telugu film Ramudu Bheemudu. Starring MG Ramachandran and B Saroja Devi in the lead, the film was directed by Chanakya. MGR was seen in double roles in the film. It proved to be a big success, collecting a reported Rs 13.23 lakh at the box office in Chennai.
Adimai Penn
Adimai Penn starred MG Ramachandran and Jayalalithaa, a popular film pair, as the leads, both playing double roles. It was directed by K Shankar and released in 1969. The film became a super hit and collected around Rs 13.60 lakh in Chennai.
Mattukkara Velan
Mattukkara Velan was released in 1970 and starred MG Ramachandran, Jayalalithaa, and Lakshmi as the protagonists. It was directed by P Neelakantan and was the official remake of the Kannada film Emme Thammanna. In Chennai, the film did a business of Rs 13.21 lakh.
Rickshawkaran
The 1971 film Rickshawkaran saw MG Ramachandran paired with actress Manjula, along with Padmini playing an important role. MGR won the National Award for Best Actor for his performance in the film. It did a collection of Rs 16.84 lakh in Chennai.
Ulagam Sutrum Valiban
