New Delhi: The 27th edition of Amazon India Fashion Week ringed in its glory with supreme presentations on the very first day itself. The bunch of designers that set the ramp ablaze on Wednesday included Varun Bahl, Gaurav Jai Gupta, Shantanu & Nikhil, Rina Dhaka and Pallavi Mohan.
It does not come as a surprise that when an ace designer showcases his super nuanced collection, fellow designers are not just in attendance at the event but are all praises for their contemporaries.
While there was a lot of hustle bustle on the first day of this extravaganza, IBNLive.com managed to get hold of the virtuoso Ritu Kumar. When asked about Gaurav Jai Gupta’s Akaaro which featured ‘Mumuksha’ line, the designer was all praises for it and said she totally loved it.
While elaborating about what she liked the most from his collection, she lauded the designer for his deep-rooted interest in weaving. “I loved the collection. I liked his interest in weaving.”
Ritu further added that while his collection was futuristic, it still managed to retain the roots of India. “It was very futuristic and very much from the root of India. Very nice!”
Gaurav Jai Gupta’s Akaaro not only set the mood right with its catchy background score but managed to grab all the eyeballs for his mere under-the-stars effect. No doubt even Ritu Kumar was in awe of his collection!
