SBS Drama Awards 2023: Revenant, Dr Romantic 3 And Taxi Driver 2 Win Big
Kim Tae-ri and Lee Je-hoon were awarded the prestigious Grand Prize at the SBS Drama Awards for their roles in Revenant and Taxi Driver 2, respectively.

SBS marked another successful year with the highly anticipated Drama Awards 2023 on December 29. Held at the prestigious SBS Prism Tower in Seoul’s Sangam-dong, the annual ceremony, hosted by the renowned Seoul Broadcasting System, celebrated outstanding achievements in various facets of the K-drama industry. The event was a star-studded affair, with actors from SBS dramas attending the occasion.

The evening was further elevated with captivating performances by Tomorrow x Together, Hwasa, Guckkasten, Doldams, Ahn Hyo-seop, and Lee Sung-kyung. Shin Dong-yup, hosting the event for the sixth consecutive year, was joined by Kim Yoo-jung for the third time, creating a dynamic hosting duo. The devoted fans passionately cheered as their beloved K-drama stars were rightfully acknowledged and honoured with well-deserved awards.

The coveted Daesang Awards for Best Actor and Best Actress at the SBS Drama Awards went to Lee Je-hoon who earned the accolade for his remarkable performance in Taxi Driver 2. The prestigious Best Actress award was claimed by Kim Tae-ri for her outstanding portrayal in Revenant.

In a celebration of exceptional talent, the SBS Drama Awards bestowed the Top Excellence Awards on recipients in specific categories. Ahn Hyo-seop and Lee Sung-kyung, known for their roles in Dr. Romantic 3, received the award for Multi-Season Series.

Similarly, Song Kang and Kim Yoo-jung, the stars of My Demon, were honoured with the Top Excellence Award for Romance or Rom-Com Miniseries.

Park Sung-woong for The Killing Vote and Moon Chae-won for Payback secured the Top Excellence Award in the Specialized Genre or Action Miniseries category. The audience’s favourite title, Netizen’s Best 2023 SBS Drama, was given to Taxi Driver 2. Shin Jae-ha & Pyo Ye-jin from Taxi Driver 2 secured the Excellence Award for Multi-Season Series, while Ryeoun & Shin Ye-eun’s stellar performances in The Secret Romantic Guesthouse earned them the Excellence Award in the Romance or Rom-Com Miniseries category. Additionally, Lee Joon and Lee Yoo-bi for The Escape of the Seven and Hong Kyung for Payback stood out in the Specialized Genre or Action Miniseries.

The on-screen chemistry between Kim Yoo-jung and Song Kang in My Demon earned them the title of Best Couple title, while Jin Sun-kyu’s gripping role in Revenant earned him the Best Performance Award. On the other hand, Dr. Romantic 3 was honoured with the Best Teamwork Award.

In the Multi-Season Series category, Bae Yoo-ram and Jang Hyuk-jin from Taxi Driver 2, alongside Son Ji-yoon from The First Responders 2, were honoured with the Best Supporting Actor award. For Romance or Rom-Com Miniseries, Jung Soon-won & Seo Jung Yeon showcased their talents in My Demon and Trolley, earning the Best Supporting Actor title. In the Specialized Genre or Action Miniseries category, Kim Won Hae’s character in Revenant took home the Best Supporting Actor recognition. While the Scene Stealer Award was claimed by Go Sang-ho & Byun Joong-hee for their memorable performances in Taxi Driver 2 and Dr Romantic 3.

In the Best Child Actor category, Choi Hyun-jin of The Killing Vote, Han Ji-an from Dr Romantic 3, Park So-yi featured in Revenant and Ahn Chae-heum in Taxi Driver 2 were acknowledged for their outstanding portrayals.

Meanwhile, the Best New Actor category at the SBS Drama Awards showcased a lineup of promising emerging stars, including Kang You-seok, Kwon Ah-reum, Kim Do-hoon, Yang Hye-ji, Lee Shin-young, Lee Hong-nae, and Jung Soo-bin.
