New Delhi: Investigators have recovered the black boxes of the Yemenia aeroplane that crashed on Tuesday. A French official reportedly confirmed that a navy vessel is out in the Indian ocean to retrieve the recorder.
The black boxes will help piece together the reasons for the crash. Authorities claim the Airbus 310-300 had several faults noted two years ago, following which the airline was compelled to take the plane off the Paris air route.
The plane has been reportedly inspected nearly 24 times by the European Union since 2007.
The Yemenia aeroplane went down in the Indian ocean near Comoros killing 153 people onboard. There was only one survivor, a 14-year-old girl.
The father of the girl, Kassim Bakari, is elated to have his daughter back though he has been mourning the loss of his wife
"When we arrived at the airport and I kissed them both. Then my wife turned around, she looked at me and she waved, and my daughter she didn't do anything, and that was the last time I saw my wife alive. I will see my daughter again, but for my wife it was the last time," says the distraught man.
