New Delhi: Along with the launch of its flagship Xiaomi Mi 3, Chinese electronics giant Xiaomi also announced two other phones - the Redmi 1S and the Redmi Note - in the Indian market.
The quad-core Redmi 1S is priced at Rs 6,999 while the octa-core Redmi Note carries a tag of Rs 9,999. Both phones are expected to be available in India via online retailer Flipkart in August.
The Redmi 1S is a dual-SIM (WCDMA for 3G + GSM for 2G) phone with an 8 megapixel rear camera and a 1.6 megapixel front camera. The phone is powered by a quad-core 1.6GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 MSM8228 processor and the GPU is an Adreno 305.
The phone has 1GB RAM and an has an internal memory of 8GB with option to expand via microSD card up to 64GB. The battery is 2000mAh. The phone's 4.7-inch display has a 1280x720 resolution.
The 5.5-inch Redmi Note has an octa-core MTK 6592 1.7GHz processor along with a 3,100 mAh lithium-polymer battery, 13 megapixel rear facing camera and a 5 megapixel front facing camera. The GPU is ARM Mali-450.
The Redmi Note has 2GB RAM and an internal memory of 8GB (expandable upto 32GB). The display resolution is the same 1280x720 as in the Redmi 1S.
