The militants have been identified as residents of Ganaupora village of Shopian in south Kashmir.
Three terrorists belonging to the Hizb-ul-Mujahideen module were arrested by the Shopian police on Saturday.
The militants reportedly identified as Zahid Mangrey, son of Muhammad Afzal Mangrey, Sohel Lone, son of Abdul Bashir and Arshid Khan, son of Abdul Rashid Khan were taken into custody during the operation.
