BANGALORE: The state government on Monday tabled the second instalment of the supplementary estimates aggregating to Rs 3,864.23 crore before the Assembly. The supplementary estimate relates to advances sanctioned from the Contingency Fund to cover expenditure on new services.Of this total sum, Rs 660 crore will be recovered by Central assistance, Rs 15 crore by other receipts and Rs 157.75 crore by adjustments. The negative outgo of cash will be Rs 3,031.38 crore. The recent revision of pay and allowances for the legislators has cost an additional `23.50 crore on the exchequer.Some instances of expenditure included in the supplementary estimate: Rs 250 crore to take up new capital works in BBMP areaRs 256 crore to meet the expenditure on account of subsidy for supply of power to IP sets and Bhagya Jyothi and Kuteera Jyothi consumers.Additional Rs 100 crore to supply free bicycles to the eighth standard studentsRs 50 crore for the construction of Suvarna Soudha at BelgaumRs 13 crore to meet the expenditure for organising the Global Investors Meet.Rs 5 lakh reimbursement for deputy chairman of the State Planning Board Ramachandra Gowda, who bought hearing aid by paying Rs 5 lakh.
