Son of Sardaar: Objectionable scenes to be removed
Sikhs had objected to a scene where Ajay is shown as a Sardar with the tattoo of Lord Shiva on his chest.

Amritsar: Actor-producer Ajay Devgn, who has been accused of showing Sikhs in bad light in his upcoming film 'Son of Sardaar', today said all objectionable scenes from the movie will be removed.

Devgn, who also plays the lead in the film, held a meeting with the members of Sikh community here and screened the comedy film for them. They had objected to a scene where Devgn is shown as a turban-wearing Sardar with the tattoo of Lord Shiva on his chest.

The actor said his film does not hurt anybody's sentiments and he has a lot of respect for the community and culture. Devgn said the film was made under the guidance of knowledgeable people.

"At no point anybody will find any element of disrespect. The protagonist of the film is a Sardar, so the film will showcase a very positive projection of the community. One should just wait for the release and then come up with comments and opinion," he told reporters.

The meeting was by Punjab Cabinet minister Bikram Majithia to resolve the issue.

All India Sikh Student Federation (AISSF) president Karnail Singh Peer Mohammad wrote a letter to Jathedar Akal Takht Giani Gurbachan Singh on August 2, asking him to take stern action against the actor for alleged blasphemous remarks

against the Community. A lawyer has also issued a legal notice to the makers of

the film asking them to delete objectionable portions from the movie.

The film, directed by Ashwini Dhir and starring Sonakshi Sinha, Sanjay Dutt, Juhi Chawla, releases in November.
