Using a gas cutter, a gang of robbers entered into a jewellery shop at Krishnanagar in Jubilee Hills police limits and decamped with 25 kg of silver and gold ornaments on Thursday. The total worth of the stolen property is yet to be ascertained by the police.
According to the police, a gang of robbers, believed to be hailing from Maharashtra given their modus operandi, gained entry into the shop, Babulal Jewellery, by cutting open its shutter with a gas cutter.
Around 7.30 am on Friday, the locals noticed the main door of the shop and informed the shop owner Ramesh Kumar Jain who rushed the spot.
“We received some inputs indicating that the gang was also involved in the theft of a four-wheeler from Banjara Hills, which was used in the theft,” police said.
Meanwhile, the Clues team was pressed into service.
