Kota: Over 800 people are stranded at Rawatbhata near Kota in Rajasthan due to flash floods following heavy rains in the area.

The group had gone to the area for picnic on Sunday but found themselves trapped as a local stream got flooded on Sunday night and the raging water washed away the embankment.

Police officials say several rescue teams have been sent to bring out those trapped.

The group consists of 400 people each from Talakhet and Pandajar.

Earlier, five persons were stuck on the banks of Parvati river in Ayana area of Kota following flash floods.

The area is situated some 100 kilometres from Kota town. In another incident, two boys today drowned while swimming in a pond in Wair town of Bharatpur district, police said.

The deceased were identified as Mohit and Hariom.

Meanwhile, torrential rains threw normal life out of gear in parts of Kota, Bundi, Jhalawar and a number of villages bordering Madhya Pradesh, an official said.
