Pietersen's dad caned him to discipline

London England batsman Kevin Pietersen has revealed that his father used to beat him with a cane in order to discipline him as a boy.

Disciplinarian dad Jannie used to beat the English cricket superstar and his brother Bryan with a cane if they stepped out of line, reported The Mirror.

"The thought of Dad's cane still scares me. I got whacked so did Kevin. It was lying face down on the bed, touching the floor the other side. You just cried your eyes out because you knew what was coming," it quoted Bryan, also a cricketer, as saying while revealing their childhood secrets.

Bryan, who hopes to be signed to play for Essex, further said: "So you did your homework, knew your times tables, didn't stay out late and behaved."

Kevin, 26, of South African origin, has been representing England in international cricket for a few years now.
