In the midst of differences between India-Pakistan, the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) hinted on suspending trade ties with India.
As per a news report in Dawn, FPCCI president Abdul Rauf Alam said, under current Indo-Pak relationship, it is not a compulsion to continue trade with India till situation improves at international level.
"The entire trade and business community in Pakistan are united on this issue," he added.
While highlighting the role of the SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry, he said that Pakistan trade community left with no choice but to promote trade relations with ECO and D-8 countries.
On the context of Kalabagh dam and the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), he said, these issues are also facing controversies and losing such opportunities could be damaging for the country.
