Come January, a one of its kind classy calendar featuring eminent personalities of Odisha will be released by Diabetes Entertainment Limited (DEL), an eight member registered company. A unique and novel attempt because this will be the first of its kind calendar that will profile only Orissan achievers. Secondly, the brains behind the calendar are youngsters mostly in their 20s and some even teenagers who will be handling all the aspects of the calendar, including the photoshoot, on their own. Some of the names who will feature in the calendar include Akash Dasnayak (actor), Priya Choudhury (actress), Anu Choudhary (actress), VJ/RJ Khurafati Amit, Krishna Beura (Bollywood singer) Dillip Tirkey, ace hockey player, Padmini Rout (chess player), Dr Achyuta Samanta, founder, KIIT, Sudarshan Pattnaik (sand artist), Pritam Panda (fashion designer), Sunita Garabadu (anchor), Sabyasachi Mishra, HML, Saswat Joshi (Odissi dancer), Dr.Pradeep Sethy (AT Group), Parthajyoti Pattnaik (Falcon group) and Smruti Ranjan Samal (The Roof). The calendar will also devote space to Anand mission ashram students (an orphange). DEL deals with graphics designing, video making, VFX, poster designing and professional photo shoots. Most of the members being students explained that the purpose behind launching the calendar was to bring out something unique in Odisha market and reach a level up professionally. “We planned to bring out a calendar that will highlight achievers of Odisha and we have narrowed down a list of people related to different fields for the photoshoot. The list includes personnel from Odia film Industry, business, sports, tourism, social service, art and culture, media and mass communication. The list is vast right now, according to the availability of the people. Of this, 24 people will be finalised,” the members added.“The preparations for the project started long back and most of the effort was spent explaining the theme to the personalities,” explain the members. But once they got the idea behind the initiative, they are more than willing to help the team. They have been promoting the calendar on air through radio and Facebook. The print order for the calendar has been fixed at 2000. Around 1000 of the calendars will be distributed to the corporates and schools and the rest 1000 will be available to the mass for free after registering through email to the company or calling them at their office. And one lot from among the 1000 will be sold at a nominal amount, the proceeds of which will go to Anand Mission Ashram orphanage.The members of the team include Dayanidhi Dahima, Jitendra Nath Sahoo, Mohit Varu, Shreeja Behera, Girija Shankar Senapati, Kiran Panigrahi , Suraj Bhagat and Shuvra Sengupta. With two of the team members handling the photography aspect, the rest six are the force behind the concept and designing of the calendar. The calendar is being sponsored by various industrialists of Odisha.
