KOTTAYAM: The NSS on Sunday flayed the LDF for criticising it for giving undue patronage to UDF leaders at the 135th jayanti of social reformer Mannath Padmanabhan.The LDF has no right to find fault with the NSS as the Left leaders had ignored the invitations sent to many of them in the past, NSS general secretary G Sukumaran Nair said at a function organised in connection with the Mannam Jayanti. Invitations sent to Kodiyeri Balakrishnan and M Vijayakumar during the LDF rule were dumped by them. The NSS follows a policy to honour and respect those who had the courtesy to acknowledge invitations sent to them. Nair also targeted the LDF at the press conference. He said that the LDF treated the NSS as if it was afflicted with some deadly disease like AIDS. He said that there were some forces which were working behind the scene to control the LDF. Nair flayed the UDF for following the education policy of the LDF Government. He cautioned the UDF that this would adversely affect the image of the government. Nair alleged that the Education Department is controlled even now by those officials who tried to sabotage aided schools during the LDF rule. Chief Minister Oommen Chandy will inaugurate the celebrations on Monday.
