SRIKAKULAM: Kovvada fishing community leader, Mylapalli Police on behalf of protesters against setting up of the proposed Kovvada Nuclear Park (KNP) on Sunday, appealed to TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu to support them in the fight against the state government, which had passed a GO last year to acquire over 1,300 acres for setting up of the park.Speaking to Express here on Sunday, Mylapalli Police said protesters have been divided in their fight as Congress leaders have been spreading “lies” that Kovvada locals were welcoming the park.Consequently, protests against the park have been diluted, he said.Agitated locals of Kovvada met Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday, who assured that necessary support from TDP would be extended to Kovvada protesters in order to quash GO 270, he said.The process of acquiring over 1,300 acres of land for the park, is yet to start, he added.“We hope that forcible land acquisition from the government will be challenged.We want to protest against setting up of this hazardous nuclear park with the support of the TDP,” he said.“During our discussions with Chandrababu Naidu in Hyderabad on Saturday, we explained how Congress leaders played a huge role in hushing up the protests of locals against the park,” Mylapalli said.Mylapalli accompanied by a nuclear scientist, Surendar Gadekar undertook a cycle yatra in the surrounding villages of Kovvada to mobilise
