New Delhi: Karun Chandhok is still in talks with Team Lotus to seal a test driver's seat for the 2011 Formula One season, his father Vikcy said on Friday.
The Malaysian outfit has Heikki Kovaleinen and Jarno Trulli as race drivers and are still looking for a reserve driver after local boy Fairuz Fauzy left the team.
"Chandhok is in Spain at the Team Lotus paddock and looking for a deal with it. He is still negotiating it with the outfit," Vicky told PTI on the sidelines of the launch of a new racing series - JK Racing Asia Series.
"To be very honest, I don't want to comment further but he is very much interested in joining the Lotus team. Let's rest this issue here," Vicky added.
Chandhok, who made his F1 debut last year with Hispania Racing Team (HRT), drove 10 races in the 2010 season before the Spanish outfit replaced him with Sakon Yamamato.
Lotus were new entrants on the F1 circuit last year along with Hispania and Virgin racing.
