MALAPPURAM: “The IUML is not begging for a fifth ministerial berth or a Cabinet rank. It is widely accepted that E Ahamed deserves a Cabinet rank, and we hope we will be considered,” said P K Kunhalikutty here on Saturday. He also said that a consensus on the demand for the fifth minister will be reached soon. Responding to the question on self-financing management issue, the minister said that the League has already cleared its stance on the issue. “The League has always held the issues of the society and community up while the SFC managements projected their issues,” he said.According to him, the issue solely depends on the question of social justice. “The Muslim League will strongly oppose any moves to paint the issue in other colours,” he said. He also said that the working committee meeting to be held on July 5 would discuss all issues in detail. State IT Minister P K Kunhalikutty also inaugurated the new website of Ponnani MP E T Mohammed Basheer on Saturday at Malappuram Press Club. He said that the state would soon overtake other states in the use of e-applications. “Kerala has improved very much in the field of e-governance, overtaking many other states in India,” he said.  The new website, www.mpofficeponnani.com, according to E T Mohammed Basheer, would work as a virtual MP Office, which would accept petitions and complaints from the public and update on the progress of the projects under MP fund. The new system will help make the activities of the MP office more transparent, he said. Claimed to be the first-of-its-kind in India, the website will also have usual content like the parliamentary speeches made by the MP, question and answers, a photo gallery and a feedback form. The details of every communication made to the MP office will be entered on the website so that the minister can have access to it from his mobile phone. Moreover, filing petitions through the website will be restricted to a bunch of authorised representatives who will be given registered username and password.
