An IndiGo flight (6E 1303) operating from Mumbai to Qatar’s Doha was delayed due to technical reasons in the wee hours of Sunday, September 15, leading to a massive ruckus at the airport by the passengers who were made to wait inside the aircraft for nearly five hours.
The passengers on the aircraft who faced technical snags were asked to deboard the flight which was scheduled for departure from Mumbai at 3:55 AM. About 250 to 300 passengers were stranded at the airport and were later taken to the immigration waiting area at the Mumbai airport.
Issuing an official statement on the incident, an IndiGo spokesperson confirmed hat flight number 6E 1303 was delayed due to a technical reason and apologized for the “inconvenience”.

“The aircraft tried to depart for its destination a couple of times but had to finally be called off due to the extended time lag on account of various procedural delays,” the spokesperson was quoted as saying by the news agency ANI.
“The customers are being provided hotels and are being rebooked as per their final destination. IndiGo sincerely apologises for the inconvenience caused to its customers,” he added.
In a separate incident on Saturday, passengers of a SpiceJet flight operating from Delhi to Bihar’s Darbhanga had a heated argument with the airline staff after the flight was cancelled five minutes before boarding time. The passengers said they were already in the queue to board the SpiceJet flight SG 495.
Some frequent flyers on Delhi-Darbhanga route claimed that the airline has been cancelling flights on this specific route frequently from last few weeks, causing inconvenience to the passengers.
