BANGALORE: Were the terror suspects who landed in Parappana Agrahara central prison conspiring to blow up the jail? If sources are to be believed, the terror suspects were getting ‘ready for some serious business’ within the jail. Moreover, the Intelligence Bureau (IB) had issued an alert to the prison department about this, which led to segregating all of them to various prisons across the state. It is said that terror accused Fahad alias Mohammad Koya and Mohammad Ali Hussein, who are suspected members of the Al-badr terror outfit and who were arrested in Mysore, had taken the initiative in bringing together all terror suspects in the jail.A source in the prison department said that IB officials had found that Fahad and Hussein were in constant touch with some Pakistanis. “Initially, they were suspected of making calls to Pakistan but it was confirmed after IB officials traced their calls to the neighbouring country. Moreover, a close tab was kept on both suspects as it was observed that they were getting ‘very close’ to other terror suspects in the prison,” the source said.“Recently, a team of National Investigation Agency (NIA) had also visited the prison and questioned some of the them. After which, an IB alert was received by the department asking them to shift the terror suspects to other jails,” the source explained.“The alert stated that Fahad and Hussein were trying to introduce the accused of the Bangalore serial blast case to their organisation’s top cadre. And, even the blast case accused, who have links with Lashkar-e-Toiba, were trying to connect the duo with their top leaders. Following the alert, the duo were shifted to Gulbarga jail, while the blast case accused were transferred to Belgaum jail, he added.
