Hoardings With Akhilesh’s Projects Come Up In Lucknow, SP Asks Yogi Govt To Give Credit
Interestingly, the BJP-led government had ordered a probe in the same expressway last year for an alleged scam, involving farm land being passed as land for residential purposes to get higher compensation.

Lucknow: Considered to be a brainchild of former UP CM Akhilesh Yadav, the Lucknow-Agra Expressway has now become one of the ‘star’ projects for the Uttar Pradesh government. Hoardings displaying the e-way have been put up across the city ahead of Yogi government’s first UP Investors Summit.

Interestingly, the BJP-led government had ordered a probe in the same expressway last year for an alleged scam, involving farm land being passed as land for residential purposes to get higher compensation.

Not only the Lucknow-Agra Expressway, the BJP government has also put up hoardings showcasing other projects of the Samajwadi Party regime like Kamdhenu dairy scheme launched in 2013 and two solar power projects of 2016.

“BJP is now using the projects initiated by our governments to attract investors. They should have the decency to give credit to Akhilesh Yadav as well. On one hand they raise questions on Lucknow-Agra Expressway and on the other hand they showcase it to attract investors,” SP spokesperson Rajendra Chaudhary said, adding that instead of “re-inaugurating” the earlier projects, the BJP government should construct some projects of their own since they came to power with a clear majority.

The UP Investors Summit, which is scheduled to be held on February 21 and February 22 at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan here, will be inaugurated by PM Narendra Modi.

Top businessmen like Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) Chairman Mukesh Ambani, Tata Group mentor Ratan Tata, Kumar Mangalam Birla, Shiv Nadar and Gautam Adani are expected to attend the event.
