Mumbai: Makers of 'Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi', which marks choreographer-director Farah Khan's foray into acting, are banking on superhit Bollywood love stories to promote the film and generate audience interest. The first poster of the film, which also stars Boman Irani, was based on the iconic poster of 1994 Salman Khan-Madhuri Dixit starrer mega hit 'Hum Aapke Hain Kaun'.
In the poster, Boman is shown wearing a white shirt and trouser (like Salman), while Farah is draped in a violet sari and posing like Madhuri. The second look of the film, directed by Bela Sehgal, is out. This time it brings back memories of Karan Johar's 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai', a 1998 blockbuster that starred Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol.
The just-released poster has Boman sporting a cool avataras Rahul (Shah Rukh) and Farah as tomboy Anjali (Kajol). There is a third and the final look which is yet to be unveiled, but it will be another iconic love story. "In the film, there is nothing about Rahul or Anjali... it's just a promotional stunt. It is sweet and cute.
Karan Johar made a lovely film and we thought of using the famous characters Rahul and Anjali from the film as part of our promotions," Bela said here today at the second look launch of the film. "There is one more like this... we cannot reveal it now,It will be a surprise," she said. Asked if the third look will be based on an Aamir Khan movie, Bela said, "We will not reveal anything now". 'Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi', a love story between two 40-plus Parsis, is the first directorial venture of Bela, sister of filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The film releases on August 24. "I don't like that make-up, but Bela made me feel very comfortable as an actor, especially in a romantic scene with Boman," Farah said.
