BHUBANESWAR: The Asian Institute of Public Health (AIPH) and University of Nebraska Medical Centre (UNMC), the USA, have announced a partnership on research and devising high-end training programmes on environmental and occupational health issues in the State.A team from UNMC comprising chair of epidemiology Prof Dana Lewis, head of Toxicology Prof Alan Kolok and Associate Prof of Environmental Health Risto Rautianen visited areas of critical environmental importance in the State and have planned to take up research projects in collaboration with AIPH.The partnership will delve into various domains of health and medicine on both the aspects, Director of Centre for Global Health and Development at the College of Public Health (UNMC) Pinaki Panigrahi said.The AIPH in collaboration with UNMC organised a seminar on Environmental and occupational health, issues and challenges to mark the institution’s annual day celebrations. Governor MC Bhandare, former ambassador to US Lalit Mansingh and former DG, ICMR, and president of AIPH governing body NK Ganguly were present.
