Claiming that she was not working for any posts, Bharti says her battle was an ideological one for upholding BJP's democratic values.

New Delhi: Suspended firebrand BJP leader Uma Bharti seems to have mellowed down after her tirade against the BJP top brass.

Bharti, who was suspended from BJP's primary membership and was served a show cause notice is now seeking blessings from senior BJP leaders AB Vajpayee and LK Advani.

She also said on Wednesday that she will reply to the notice issued to her within three days.

Claiming that she was not working in the party for any posts, Bharti said her battle was an ideological one for upholding democratic values and principles and that the party should take a "right" stand on the issue.

Bharti was suspended from BJP?s primary membership on Wednesday for what was described as anti-party activities.

Describing the former Prime Minister and the BJP President as "father like figures", the fiery sanyasin said they should not treat the episode as an organisational-legal matter but should instead give a deeper thought before taking any decision.

"I am grateful to the party and want the blessings of Vajpayee ji and Advani ji who are father-like figures to me," Uma said on Wednesday.

Uma had not only challenged the party decision to make Shivraj Singh Chauhan the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, she had also embarrassed the BJP by making public her differences with the party's top brass.

Wednesday's verdict was not surprising because Uma, once the Sangh's prodigal daughter, had also lost VHP and RSS' support by the end of the day.
