A day after chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy found himself cornered at the cabinet meeting, he reviewed the power situation in the state on Saturday. However, the officials reportedly informed the chief minister that the power shortage had not improved due to insufficient rain.
He directed the officials to assess the situation in every three days for the next two months, and asked them to coordinate with district collectors and Transco SEs on a daily basis.
Kiran wanted the principal secretary of Energy Department to convene a video conference with district collectors on Monday. He also directed Transco officials to have tele-conference among themselves on daily basis between 12 noon to 2 pm.
When officials explained him about the dry spells, Kiran asked them to ensure seven hours power supply for agriculture sector at any cost.
