The CWC officer is absconding and a hunt has been launched to arrest him.

An official of the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) in Telangana was booked in an alleged sexually assault case of a 16-year-old orphan boy at Saidabad Children's Home.

Preliminary inquiry revealed the CWC officer identified as Krishna was assigned to shift the boy - who had been rescued – to a home in Kukatpally but instead of doing that he took the boy to another place and 'sexually' assaulted him.

A case under relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act has been registered against the officer at the KPHB police station.

The CWC officer is absconding and a hunt has been launched to arrest him.

Further investigation is on.
