Bombay HC Raps CBI for Media Leaks in Dabholkar Murder Case
Dabholkar was shot dead by unknown assailants in Pune on August 20, 2013.

Mumbai: The Bombay High Court on Thursday has rapped the CBI for repeated leaks of probe details in the Narendra Dabholkar murder case.

The Court received status report in the CBI probe in Dabholkar's murder and while pulling up the probe agency, the court asked why its officers are making frequent statements in media about progress of the case.

The court also reprimanded CBI saying it's a delicate matter and probe details should not be leaked.

The HC also expressed dissatisfaction with the probe in murders of Narendra Dabholkar, Govind Pansare and MM Kalaburgi.

CBI has informed that ballistic reports in all these cases will be presented in the court on next date of hearing once it comes from the Scotland Yard.

On May 6, murder of anti-superstition activist Narendra Dabholkar in Pune was transferred to CBI.

Earlier, Pune police was investigating the high-profile case but there was no headway following which a PIL was filed by former journalist Ketan Tirodkar seeking a CBI probe into the case.

Dabholkar was shot dead by unknown assailants in Pune on August 20, 2013.
