Amitabh Bachchan is reportedly recovering fast and doctors at the Lilawati Hospital say there's no cause for worry.

Mumbai: Amitabh Bachchan's fans praying for the superstar's speedy recovery can heave a sigh of relief.

Doctors at the Lilavati Hospital have announced that Bachchan is recovering and there is no cause of worry.

The hospital authorities are also hoping to discharge the superstar by Wednesday evening.

Bachchan, who was diagnosed with colitis (intestinal inflammation) on Tuesday, spent his second night at the Lilavati hospital under observation.

After a series of tests and medical examination doctors declared that there was no cause of worry.

Bachchan's wife Jaya Bachchan and his son Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan left the hospital for their home in the wee hours of Wednesday morning indicating that the Big B was indeed doing well.

As soon as Bachchan was admitted to the Lilavati Hospital, members of the film fraternity started pouring in.

Bollywood actors Priyanka Chopra and Ritesh Deshmukh, Abhishek's co-stars in his forthcoming movie Bluffmaster, were the first to arrive.

In the early hours of Tuesday morning, actors Sanjay Dutt, Danny Dengzongpa, producer Smita Thackeray, Romesh Sharma, Manoj Desai, Ramesh Sippy, family friends Parmeshwar Godrej, Gauri Kahn and Jayaprada made their way through the crowded hospital lobby to his room.

Also spotted at Lilavati Hospital was Bachchan?s estranged brother Ajitabh. All visitors who saw the actor insisted his health was better.

"Doctors say he's fine. All tests have been conducted. He may even be discharged soon." Filmmaker Mehul Kumar insisted.

"He is perfectly stable. Some test results will come in the evening and once they're in, we'll know when he can be discharged. All our wishes are with him," Film exhibitor Manoj Desai said.
